Exhibits Open to Public: Thursday Aug 1 to Sunday, August 4th, 10am-9pm daily. (Closes at 8pm Sunday)

Entry Fees: None if pre-entered by July 25th.

Late Entry Fee: Late entries will be accepted; however, a $1 late fee will be charged for each exhibit entered after July 25th.

PREMIUM PAYOUTS & RELEASE TIMES

Open Static premium payouts will be available Sunday, August 4, 8:30–10 p.m. and Monday, August 5, 11 a.m.–2 p.m. in the Ag Society Hall, including Open Quilts. 

IMPORTANT: Get payouts first, then pick up your exhibit(s) during this time. All Open Static exhibits can be picked up in Ag Society Hall except Open Quilts will be in the Lancaster Room.

  • Open Quilts premiums will be available in the Lancaster Room if exhibitor has no other Open Static exhibits entered under same name in the Ag Society Hall.

  • 4-H’ers may pick up their Open Static premiums and exhibits during Open Static move-out times listed above OR during 4-H Static exhibit release on Monday, Aug. 5, 7–11 a.m. in the Ag Society Hall — your choice.

  • All Open Static premiums not picked up at above specified times will be forfeited and any Open Static exhibits not picked up will be thrown away or donated.
 

SHOW RULES

All articles must be original - not copied from any published source. Articles previously entered are not eligible. Only one exhibit per person may be entered for each class number.


THERE ARE SEPARATE DIVISIONS FOR ADULTS AND YOUTH

 

ADULT DIVISION
Two-dimensional Artwork - Work by adults must be framed with wire and eye hooks, NO SAW-TOOTH HANGERS.

Fragile work and extremely large pieces should not be entered. Dollies and 2 wheeled carts may not available. Please plan ahead.


YOUTH DIVISION

There are four divisions open to youth (ages 5 & under, ages 6-9, ages 10-13 and ages 14-18 (by January 1st of the current year).

  • Paintings, drawings, prints, 2-D mosaics or collages, and computer art MUST BE SECURELY MOUNTED ONTO WHITE POSTER BOARD or FOAM CORE (entry tag will be attached to the upper right-hand side—taped to back of exhibit.) Leave a 1 to 2 inch border of white poster board around the work. This allows the piece to hang without harming the artwork.

  • Due to limited space, entries should NOT EXCEED 12 x 18 inches in size.

  • No frames or glass in the Youth Division please.

 

Sketchbook Entry Guidelines

For Adults and Youth Age 14-18 ~ Please select 3 pages from your sketchbook to be judged. Select pages must be clearly marked for judging with posted notes. Do NOT remove pages from your sketchbook.


At superintendent’s and/or judge’s discretion, classes with few entries may be combined with others, and classes with an overly large number of entries may be subdivided. Judging is merit-based. At judge’s discretion, not all placings will be awarded if exhibits do not merit placing.

  • Choice of Subject
  • Composition - use of design elements and principles
  • Workmanship - media choice and its technical skill
  • Originality - not copied, interesting
  • Showmanship - framing, matting or mounting, and overall appearance
