SHOW RULES

ONLY ONE EXHIBIT MAY BE ENTERED FOR EACH CLASS NUMBER. This division is for participants who experience physical disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and/or visual impairments. There are two Divisions. One division is open to adults ages 19 & up (by January 1 of current year) and one division open to Youth (5-18 as of January 1 of current year). If you need assistance registering please call the Lancaster Event Center at 402-441-6545. All entries must be original - not copied from any published source. Entries previously entered are not eligible.

Due care will be exercised in handling each exhibit, but the Ag Society will not be responsible for articles lost, damaged or stolen. Fragile work and extremely large pieces should not be entered. No articles will be release before specified time. If you are unable to pick up your exhibits are the release time, it is your responsibility to find someone to do so. At Superintendent and/or judge’s discretion, classes with few entries may be combined with others, and classes with an overly large number of entries may be subdivided. Any items remaining after NOON on August 9 will be disposed of unless other arrangements are made.

JUDGING SCALE

Judging is merit-based. At judge’s discretion, not all placings will be awarded if exhibits do not merit placing. Ribbons may be awarded for 1st through 4th place and all others will receive participant ribbons. Premium payouts are minimums and may increase based on sponsorship amounts. Placings will be determined by:

  • Choice of Subject
  • Composition - use of design elements and principles
  • Workmanship - media choice and its technical skill
  • Originality - not copies, interesting
  • Showmanship - mounting and overall appearance
