3rd Annual Wiener Dog Dash Rules & Regulations

All Dachshunds (pure-bred or mixed breed) must be registered and up to date on vaccinations. (Rabies, Parvovirus and Distemper) You will need to show veterinary records in order to participate.

All racers must submit a registration form and have a signed waiver releasing the facility, sponsors, volunteers, etc. from liability.

Although pre-registration is encouraged, day-of registration is available but please note that space may be limited.

We apologize ahead of time, but spectating pups will not be allowed at this event.

Owners must clean up after their dog’s accidents! Dogs must be always on a leash besides during their designated race time.

Any dog showing any aggression towards another dog or person will be disqualified and your race entry will be forfeited.

The dogs name will be called TWICE before the race. If your dog is not at the starting gate at the time of the race, you will forfeit the race and there will be no refunds.

All dogs must have two handlers at the event. One at the starting line to release the dog and the other to catch the dog at the finish line. One must be at least 18 years of age and the other must be at least 12 years of age.

There will be two lines at the finishing end. The first line is the finish line for the dogs. The second line (furthest line) is the boundary line for the handler. Owners/Handlers may not cross the second line.

Dogs must be held at the starting line until the whistle is blown to start the race. This must be a release, “Throwing” of the dog will result in being disqualified.

Dogs touched by either handler before crossing the finish line will be disqualified.

Dogs are allowed to go out of bounds, but must re-enter and completely cross the finish line, within the boundaries, without being grabbed.

Owners/Handlers may use a toy or treat to entice dogs towards the finish line. But may NOT throw balls, toys, treats or run alongside of them. Laser lights are prohibited.

All Judges rulings are FINAL.

The #1 Rule – You MUST have FUN!!
