Want to be part of one of Nebraska’s biggest summer traditions? We’re always looking for enthusiastic volunteers and seasonal staff to help bring the Lancaster County Super Fair to life!

Whether you’re looking to give back to the community, earn some extra cash over the summer, or gain hands-on event experience, we’ve got opportunities for you.

No experience? No problem—we’ll provide training. Perfect for students, retirees, teachers, or anyone looking for something seasonal and rewarding.

Volunteer and Seasonal Worker Roles

Admission Gate Ticket Takers & Parking Attendants:

  • Assist professional Parking Supervisors in directing traffic (cars, trailers & pedestrians)
  • Answer questions on where events, buildings and services are located (we will train you and give you reference info)
  • Must enjoy being outdoors, bring hat/sunglasses, don’t forget your sunscreen!
  • Shifts: morning, afternoon & evening

Cafe Help:

  • Assist SGEC Concessions Staff on various duties
  • Includes fulfilling orders (drinks, grabbing food and snacks, cashier, stock supplies, and food prep
  • Dress modestly, closed-toe shoes
  • Shifts: morning, afternoon & evening

Custodial Assistants:

  • Assist with keeping SGEC looking nice and clean for the entirety of the fair
  • Includes wiping down tables in eating area, taking out trash, cleaning restrooms, sweeping and mopping
  • Shifts: morning, afternoon & evening

Grandstand Event Ticker Scanners:

  • Shifts: 6 evening events

  • Shift: Thursday August 8, evening

Volunteer Benefits

All volunteers working at least 4 hours receive:

  • Super Fair T-shirt
  • Unlimited fountain drinks including soda, iced tea, lemonade and water
  • Breaks, shade, basic snacks will be provided as much as possible (Note: snacks do not account for dietary restrictions)
  • One (1) meal from any SGEC cafe
  • If you need certification of your volunteer hours for school or other organization, we are happy to sign your form.
  • Earn parking passes and/or Grandstand event tickets after working 2 shifts
